Abstract

A vehicular window assembly, formed as a complete unit prior to installation and adapted to be installed as a unit from the exterior of ca the vehicle body with only final securement being necessary from the interior, includes a moulded plastics casing or gasket (45), a transparent window (40) around which the casing or gasket is moulded, and an attachment member. The attachment member may be a continuous rigid frame (12) which, has a portion (26) embedded in the casing and a portion (20) with studs (30) by which the entire assembly is secured to the vehicle body (11). The frame may be concealed from view from the outside of the vehicle. Separate attaching members may be embedded within the casing. Decorative strips may be secured to the casing exterior. The casing may be moulded around only one edge of the window pane thereby forming a flexible, resilient hinge allowing the window pane to be moved between open and closed positions. <IMAGE>
