Abstract

A support apparatus particularly suitable for a bridge has two pivotally mounted support legs (2) which are spaced from one another and diverge in the direction of the ground. The support legs are interconnected by a transversely extending piston-and- cylinder arrangement (4) and a further piston-and-cylinder arrangement (5) extends between each leg (2) and the bridge. Both piston-and-cylinder arrangements (4, 5) include a control device (9) having control means (10) arranged in each piston (8) by means of which locking and unlocking of the support legs (2) is effected in the working position or during pivoting of the legs. The piston-and-cylinder arrangement (4) also includes an additional adjuster cylinder (14). <IMAGE>
