Abstract

Lubricating means for a cam of a camshaft (3), particularly but not exclusively for a cam of an internal combustion engine, with a feed channel (5) terminating in a camshaft bearing (4) and a groove (6) for effecting spraying having an exit opening directed towards a cam runway and which communicates with the feed channel (5) when the camshaft (3) is in at least one particular position of rotation, in which the spraying groove (6) is arranged in a parting surface (7) of a housing of the camshaft bearing (4), and/or in a bearing surface (9) provided by the housing, and in which a bearing surface (13) of the camshaft (3) is formed with a control-effecting groove (12) extending around a portion of the periphery of the camshaft via which control-effecting groove (12) the spraying groove (6) communicates with the feed channel (5) when the camshaft (3) is in that particular position of rotation. <IMAGE>
