Abstract

A separator for separating metal components 10, 11 from composite metal and ceramic articles in which the separator includes a chuck or clamp 22, serving as means to hold the article; drive means to rotate the clamp or chuck and thereby to rotate the article about the axis of the clamp or chuck; and an adjustable hydraulic nozzle device 20 capable of being aimed to direct a pressure jet of liquid which may include shot or steel pellets at a joint 14 between metal and ceramic in the article as the latter is rotated, whereby to remove the ceramic material from the metal. <IMAGE>
