Abstract

A hollow channel that is placed within a wall, partition or ceiling which contains magnets and spacers; the magnets and spacers are slid along the entire length of the channel with the use of a magnet external to the wall. This allows the position of the magnetic hanging points to be varied. When the channel and magnets are used together with magnetic and steel fixtures and fittings external to the wall then pictures, plants, lights, kitchen utensils etc can be hung from the wall, partition or ceiling without any damage to these surfaces. The side of the channel closest to the surface of the wall can be covered in a metal mesh; the mesh allows plaster to adhere to the channel and blend into the flat surface of the wall.
