Abstract

The construction panel 100 comprises first and second frame members 102, 104 which are adjacent to each other and connected to each other around their perimeters by at least one connecting member 106. At least one of the connecting members is positioned to extend between the first and second frame members to define a recess in a side of the panel. The frame members are preferably made from timber beams and the connecting members made from plywood plates. The interior of the panel may be filled with insulating bio-composite material 112 including lime binder and hemp. Also claimed is a panel comprising a main panel body formed from vegetable based aggregate based bio composite, for example hemp, and clad with a plant fibre based board, such as wood fibre. Also claimed is a method of forming a panel by filling a frame structure with filler and allowing the filler to solidify. Also claimed is a method of joining panels together.
