Abstract

The invention provides a gear transmission comprising a bevel gear wheel (10) mounted for rotation about an axis (13), a non-rotatable wobbler gear wheel (14) mounted by a support (16) to swing about an axis extending diametrically of the wobbler gear wheel, the support (16) being mounted to swing about an axis extending normal to the said axis of the wobbler gear wheel (14) and normal to the said axis (13) of the bevel gear wheel (10), all the axes intersecting each other at the apex of the reference cone of the bevel gear wheel (10), a drive shaft (19) and means (20) to transmit motion from the drive shaft (19) to the wobbler gear wheel (14) and cause the wobbler gear wheel to mesh at successive locations around the wobbler gear wheel and drive the bevel gear wheel (10) in rotation; the bevel and wobbler gear wheels having differing numbers of teeth. <IMAGE>
