Abstract

An interchangeable lens 1 has one end adapted for insertion into a complementary socket in a camera body which is provided with contact pins connected to an exposure meter circuit arranged within the camera body. The inserted end is provided with a contact bridge 5 which, when the objective is mounted on the camera, comes into contact with at least one of the contact pins within the camera. The bridge 5 serves as a coded contact arrangement which, according to the contact code selected, determines the parameters of the data fed through the contact pins to the exposure meter. The bridge 5 may support insulating plates 9 whereby one or more of the pins are not brought into electrical connection with the bridge. <IMAGE>
