Abstract

A dual circuit LED light fitting with two separate LED circuits, which are powered independently of each other to provide two distinct levels of illumination. The circuits can be arranged in any desired shape to suit the illumination level and light pattern required. The LEDs may be arranged in a circular or oval pattern with an inner circle 2 forming one circuit and an outer circle 1 forming another circuit. Alternatively the LEDs may be arranged in one or more squares or rectangles or arranged in a random shaped pattern. One circuit can provide background lighting when the other circuit is switched off. The second circuit can provide maximum illumination when both circuits are switched on. The second circuit can be switched on by using a sensor triggered when a pedestrian or vehicle is present. The light fitting saves electricity consumption.
