Abstract

The specification describes a bandage fabric which is highly elastic in the warp and/or weft direction and readily tearable in the weft and/or warp direction. The fabric is described as having metal oxides and/or metal salts incorporated into it and as having weft threads of cotton, staple fibre or cotton/staple fibre and polyurethane and/or rubber and weft and/or warp threads of cotton, staple fibre or the like. The weft and warp threads forming the fabric and may be twisted, and the particular twist given to the weft threads may differ from that given to the warp threads. <IMAGE>
