Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle- seat installation in which an arm-rest 5, hingedly mounted at 12 in the region of its front edge, is swingable from the rearward arm-rest position 5a to a forward position 5b in which it serves as a table. The arm-rest is provided, adjacent to a forward part 6 affording arm support, with an upwardly projecting rear part 7 associated with the space between the back-rests of the seats. Advantageously, the arm-rest provides cover for a compartmented chest 4 located between the seats, and usable for accommodating a variety of accessories and other articles. Part of the chest may stand up above the seat surfaces and be stepped down towards the front edges of the latter and terminate in a bracket part 18 located at the level of those surfaces. <IMAGE>
