Abstract

A treatment chair such as a dental chair has a pivotable arm system comprising a receptacle arm (18) which is swingable against frictional resistance around a vertical pin (16) extending from a head (12) which is disposed on a parallel motion leg post (6) provided with a balance spring (10) and friction brake. The post is pivotally tiltable about a foot (4) which is attached to the chair and supports the post (6). The pivot axes 7 of the post legs are directed at an angle of from 10 DEG to 20 DEG to a plane normal to the vertical central plane of the chair. A tray arm (22) and an ejector arm (28, 30) are individually swingable against frictional resistance about bearings disposed on the receptacle arm (18). This makes an instrument receptacle (20), a tray holder (24) and an ejector holder (32) individually adjustable against frictional resistance on arms 18, 22, 28. The tray arm (22) has a handle (26) enabling the dentist to swing away or return, in a single movement, the implements disposed on the various arms. <IMAGE>
