Abstract

A canopy type window comprises a window frame having an upper sash carrying section (1) which is horizontally pivotally connected to a lower window frame section (2) so as to be rotatable to enable the window position to be reversed. The window sash is pivotally connected to the window frame by linkage (9, 10) pivotally connected to the frame and sash above the level of the pivotal connection between the two frame sections. Also a pivot (8) attached to the upper edge of the sash is slidable along (19) of angled shape in or on the window frame so as to be drawn towards the window frame at the end of its closing movement. Also locking means (12) acting between the upper section of the window frame and the sash is provided. <IMAGE>
