Abstract

A window for a building comprises an outer pane (2) and a transparent inner element (1) of air-impervious fabric or plastic sheeting. This transparent element (1) is spaced from the outer pane (2) and air flow through the intervening space (12) may be allowed. The transparent element (1) is easily removable and replaceable at will, to which end it is a flexible sheet which can be wound on to and unwound from a roller (8) mounted in a casing (20) at the top of the window. A light- or sun-shielding element (13) is operatively positionable between the outer pane (2) and the inner transparent element (1). The airflow may be produced by convection or by an air extractor device (9) connected to the roller (20). <IMAGE>
