Abstract

A conveyor belt is described formed of carriage elements linked to form a chain, each carriage element carrying a releasable transporting sat. The carriage elements are of two forms 6,7, arranged alternately, a first form 6 having transverse front and rear coupling bars 6a and a second form having hooks 7a with grooves to receive the coupling bars of the first elements. The first elements have a rotatable guide element 16 positioned to co-operate with a guide rail beneath the belt at least at the curved sections. <IMAGE>
