Abstract

A testing point for an insulated cable 12 consists of a body of insulating material built up from two parts 21 and 22, defining a cavity, through which a pin 43 can be driven into the cable through its insulation, after which the cavity is filled with petroleum jelly. A collar 23 fits over the halves 21 and 22 to hold them together, and has a lid 42 enabling the cavity to be opened and closed. To measure the voltage in the cable, a meter probe is pushed through the petroleum jelly into contact with the pin 43. <IMAGE>
