Abstract

A mat comprises extruded rubber or plastics material 1 having integral ribs 2 projecting from one surface thereof and a strip 3 of fibrous or open cell foam material which is more water-absorbent than the said rubber of plastics material extending substantially parallel to the ribs. The fibrous or foam material is partially embedded in the rubber or plastics material and partially projects from it at the same surface as the ribs. <IMAGE>
