Abstract

A ribbon which is extruded from a die 1 with a section, either formed by the die or by means downstream of the die e.g. by rolls, comprising ribs 9 of any geometrical shape interconnected by thin webs 10, is cooled by means 2 and the ribs 9 are then separated longitudinally into strands at the webs 10 by means 4, and the strands are then granulated by means 6. <IMAGE>
