Abstract
Substituted-amide derivatives of L- and DL-4-methoxy and 4-hydroxy- phenylglycine of the formula: <IMAGE> where R is hydrogen or methyl and R<1> is lower alkyl which may optionally be substituted with one or more hydroxy, lower alkoxy, carboxy, amino, mono-or di-lower-alkylamino, phenyl or phenoxy groups; or an alkynyl, alkenyl or cycloalkyl group, are useful in ischaemic heart disease, cardiac failure, cerebral insufficiency, obesity and diabetes. A process for their preparation and pharmaceutical compositions are also claimed.
