Abstract
Water is purified by passage through a bed comprising anion exchange resin and then, so as to give warning of approaching exhaustion of the bed and the resultant breakthrough of silica, is passed at a high flow rate through a rinsed bed of cation exchange resin and its conductivity is then measured. When it is observed that the conductivity starts to rise the anion exchange resin is regenerated.
