Abstract

The device comprises a lock (5) which may be attached to the door frame, and an alarm contained in a housing (3) which may be attached to the door leaf from the inside thereof. A mechanical securing element, such as a door safety chain (6) is connected at one end to the housing and electricity conducting means, such as a flexible cable (8) is connected at one end to the alarm, the mechanical securing element and the conducting means being either mutually independent elements or being combined Figs 5-8 (not shown), the free ends of the mechanical securing element and of the conducting means being connected to an end piece (7) which may be locked in the lock when the door is nearly closed. The alarm is responsive to a pulling force exceeding a preselected threshold value and exerted on the mechanical securing element, and is an electronically triggerable acoustic signalling means. The conducting means forms part of a closed-circuit loop incorporating the alarm. <IMAGE>
