Abstract
A weighing apparatus comprises a transducer (1 or 1'), a microcomputer (2) and a display means (4). The relationship between a weight force (x) applied to the transducer (1) and the value of a parameter (y) of an electrical output produced thereby substantially conforms to a polynomial equation. The microcomputer (2) scores the equation and values of constants therein, which constant values are specific to a particular transducer, and uses them to solve the polynomial equation to compute the display the weight force (x) for a measured value of the parameter (y). Consequently, a precision weight measurement can be made with a cheap, non-linear transducer. <IMAGE>
