Abstract

The shuttering comprises a horizontal panel 1 and two vertical side panels 2 and 3, the two vertical panels being connected together at their base by two horizontal jacks 4, 5 and being connected to the horizontal panel 1 by means of four inclined jacks 6 to 9, the joint between the upper edges of the panels 2, 3 and the panel 1 being such that, on lowering of the horizontal panel 1 during stripping of the shuttering, the upper edges of the vertical panels 2, 3 can be moved towards each other away from the cast walls. The upper edges of panels 2, 3 may be constrained to so move by a connection between the panels 2, 3 and panel 1 in the form of either a lever pivoted between panel 2 (or 3) and panel 1 or by a peg on panel 1 engaging an inclined slot on plate 13 on panel 2 (or 3). Alternatively, there may be no direct connection at said joint, a bell crank lever pivoted on panel 1 normally urging panels 2 (3) outwards, but being pivotal to allow said movement of the panels 2, 3. <IMAGE>
