Abstract

A polymeric material comprising a polydiene, which is epoxidised and aminated. The material may be at least partially neutralised by an appropriate acid so that it can be used in an aqueous solution or dispersion for use in forming protective coatings on objects by electrodeposition. The material may alternatively be in solution in one or more appropriate organic solvents so that it can be used for forming coatings by, for example, brushing, dipping, or spraying. A solution or dispersion containing the material may include pigments or/and fillers or/and extenders to provide a composition for use as a paint.
