Abstract

Disclosed is a device for electrode- type electrical logging sondes and a sonde incorporating said device. As shown in Fig. 2, the device comprises a unitized assembly (6) adapted to be mounted on and removed from the central mandrel (8) of an electrode-type logging sonde. The unitized assembly comprises a metallic cylinder (72) encased by an electrically-insulating sheath (74). A sleeve (76), also electrically insulating, surrounds the sheath (74). The electrodes A and M are mounted around the sleeve (76) and are separated from each other by spacers (78 to 96). Sondes equipped with the device are useful in oil prospecting. <IMAGE>
