Abstract

An electrical connector with an elastomeric insert or grommet 19 includes a plurality of conductor- receiving pockets 30 each with an integrally molded membrane 36 at its rearward end which completely seals the conductor-receiving pocket 30. The membrane 36 remains intact during normal operation of the connector with the pocket empty and is ruptured upon insertion of a contact terminated conductor 26 into the pocket 30. <IMAGE>
