Abstract

A universal-joint arrangement for a drive shaft comprises a cruciform joint 10 whose respectively opposite journals are engaged by two bifurcated joint members with the interposition of journal-bearing sleeves, the joint member on at least one side of the joint comprising two blocks 14 located opposite to each other and positively connected to a two-armed shaft flange 15 by tooth systems 17 of, for example, trapezoidal teeth on each block and on the flange, the tooth systems are located in four regions and extend at least substantially crosswise with reference to the longitudinal axis of the joint, the teeth of respective regions being directed substantially towards the said axis and parallel to each other. The toothed regions on each block and on the respective arm of the flange are suitably at an angle of substantially 60 DEG to 90 DEG to each other. <IMAGE>
