Abstract
A percussion fuze (13) possesses a mechanical delay device so that the projectile (10) can penetrate as deeply as possible into the target. If, however, the projectile (10) cannot penetrate into the target, the fuze (13) must respond before the projectile body (10) and the fuze (13) are deformed to such an extent that ignition is no longer possible. For this purpose, the percussion pin (31) of the percussion fuze (13) is held by a shear pin (41) which is sheared off in the case of high deceleration forces. <IMAGE>
