An electrophotographic plate comprises a transparent supporting base 10, a photoconductive layer 20 and an intermediate layer comprising spaced strips 12 and 14 of transparent and opaque conductive material respectively, the strips being arranged to apply an operating voltage to the plate. <IMAGE>
