Abstract

A hydraulic steering system has two steering conduits (3, 4) leading from a manually actuable steering valve (6) to the opposite ends of the steering cylinders (1, 2). A pressure medium actuator (29) can also actuate the steering valve in dependence on the operating pressure fed to each steering conduit (3, 4). A frequency-responsive hydraulic circuit (40, 43, 45-53) is interposed between the steering conduits (3, 4) and the actuator in such a way that only pressure oscillations above a pre- determined frequency, such as caused by rapid setting of the steering valve, are transmitted to the actuator, which in turn counteracts the manually chosen valve setting until the pressure oscillations have been dampened. <IMAGE>
