Abstract

In an aircraft the field of view of a crew member is increased in a downwards and forwards direction without affecting the structural integrity of the aircraft structure by incorporating sensing means 8 for providing an image of an otherwise obstructed exterior view and image display means 6 for presenting an image to the crew member which appears as a continuation of the normal exterior view available through a windscreen. <IMAGE>
