Abstract

A strand 1 of artificial hair comprises a shaft portion 2, and a root portion 3 integral therewith, the root portion being formed into a closed loop 4 so that when the root portion of the hair is implanted in the human skin, the regenerating fibrous tissue of the skin will be able to enter into the closed loop 4 of the root portion so as to anchor it firmly in the skin. The hair is preferably made of a predetermined length of polyethylene or polybutylene terephthalate fibre. In an alternative embodiment the root portion comprises two closed loops. <IMAGE>
