Abstract

In a printed circuit including a substrate 11 having conductive patterns 12, 13 located on opposite surfaces, an electrical connection between the patterns 12, 13 is completed through a hole 14 in the substrate 11 by a self-supporting strip 15 of flexible, conductive material. The strip 15 comprises a portion 17 which overlies at least part of the conductive pattern 12 and is joined thereto and a portion 16b which projects through the hole 14 and is joined to a region of the second pattern 13 extending up to the edge of the hole 14, the dimensions of the second portion 16b being such as to locate and retain the strip 15 in position during formation of the connection. The strip 15 also comprises a bridge piece 16a which at one end projects from the portion 17 so as to be spaced from the substrate and the portion 17 and at the other end extends towards the substrate to join portion 16b. The bridge piece 16a is free to move relative to the substrate 11 and flexes in response to differential thermal expansion. <IMAGE>
