Abstract

A combination tool holder is disclosed for detachable securement to a machine tool spindle comprising a basic holder 1 having a cavity 5 extending in axial direction through the whole holder, and an interchangeable adapter carrying a machine tool and being detachably secured to the basic holder via screw bolts holding a flange formation of the adapter in abutment with a terminal flange of the holder. The cavity can be as much as 60% of the volume of the basic holder for weight reduction. <IMAGE>
