Abstract

In a radiophotographic method for radiographic films substances rich in silver are recovered from a fixing bath in parallel with a fixing step so as to keep the silver halide concentration in the bath below the saturation concentration, the treated fixing bath being then recycled to the fixing step. The apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a development station (1) and a fixing station (2) for the radiographic films. The apparatus further includes an economiser-recuperator unit (4) to recover the silver contained in the fixing bath so as to maintain in the fixing bath a silver concentration lower than the saturation concentration of the bath. <IMAGE>
