Abstract

A device for continuous determination of moisture in fine assortments of minerals, comprises an electromagnetic radiation and detecting system 2, 3, 4 and a pendulous support construction 1 which is arranged to overlie the surface of the mineral under examination. The electromagnetic system is connected to a readout 5 which provides a moisture determination corrected for thickness of the mineral in accordance with a signal received from the pendulous support construction. Units 6, 7 signal the motion of the belt conveyor 11 and the presence of a required thickness of the mineral layer 10 on the belt. The moisture determination depends on microwave reflection back to the detector 2 from the mineral layer. <IMAGE>
