Abstract

An antiskid braking system has a brake actuator 18 operated by fluid pressure from the chamber 14 of a master cylinder 12, acting through a skid-responsive undulating valve 20. A replenishing device 22 for the brakes comprises an accumulator 32 connected to the brake actuator 18 through a valve 36 which is normally closed by the fluid pressure in the accumulator 32. A piston 38 is responsive to a difference between the pressure in the chamber 14 and the pressure prevailing downstream of the valve 36 to the chambers 40 and 42 of the replenishing device, so as to open the valve 36 when the pressure difference exceeds a predetermined value. The accumulator is recharged by a pump 52 operated by movement of the vehicle suspension. <IMAGE>
