Abstract
A resistance welding machine is disclosed of the type which comprises a fixed clamping device 5 and a clamping device 6 which is movable to perform an advance movement 2 and a return movement and which is mounted on a member 7 supported at a leading end and at a trailing end so as to be movable in the advance and return directions. So as to ensure satisfactory straight guidance of the movable clamping device 6 without the incorporation of a carriage guide, the mounting member (7) is supported at least at its leading end on hinged supports 12 which are hinged to the mounting member (7) and to a base (1) of a frame of the machine so as to be swingable in the advance and return directions. <IMAGE>
