Abstract
A cupro-nickel alloy consists of the following proportions by weight: 12.0- 13.5% nickel; 4.5-5.0% manganese; 2.0-3.0% aluminium; 1.7-2.0% iron; 0-0.5% of a grain refining agent; and the balance copper. The grain refining agent may be selected from titanium, niobium, zirconium or chromium. It has good weldability and is used for marine piping, valves and pumps.
