Abstract
A flap shutter arrangement for pipes comprising a generally cylindrical housing 1, a swingable flap 2 mounted within the housing for movement between a closed position in which the periphery 6 of the flap forms a seal with a seating 7 of the housing which lies in a plane E, which is at right angles to the longitudinal axis G of the housing, and an open position in which the flap lies in a plane disposed at up to 90 DEG to the plane E, the movement including an initial lifting movement of the flap away from the sealing surface of the seating 7, and linear drive means 5 pivoted to an actuator member 3 which is pivoted at an intermediate position. 10 min fixed relative to the housing and located within the housing, the other end of the actuator member beyond the pivot being pivotally or rigidly connected to the flap. <IMAGE>
