Abstract

Gaseous sulphur compounds are removed from an impure gas by forming a gas stream containing metal oxide vapour, condensing the vapour into fine particles and contacting the particles whilst still carried in the gas stream with the impure gas, and separating the resulting particles from the mixture of the impure gas and the gas stream.
