Abstract

In the carrying of cloth through a steamer vessel, with the cloth hanging in loops from a chain conveyor 2, a suction roll 9 is provided to control the feed of cloth 10 past cloth supporting elements 5 carried by the conveyor, so that loops of cloth are picked up by said elements 5 on simultaneous movement of the conveyor. The links 3 of the chain conveyor 2 may relatively be folded to decrease the spacing of said elements 5, so that a greater length of cloth may be accommodated on a steamer vessel of a given size. <IMAGE>
