Abstract
Electrolytic dissociation of a fluid, preferably water, is achieved by moving a magnetic field through the fluid which is disposed intermediate two electrodes. The magnetic field is preferably a rotating magnetic field. Conveniently the fluid is made to flow at low velocity in an annular duct (51) disposed intermediate two discs (33) provided with magnets (32), the discs (33) being mounted on a common rotatable shaft (34). Such an arrangement is particularly applicable to hydrogen production. <IMAGE>
