Abstract

A device for mounting an inward- flow filter bag in a housing comprises an upper rigid pipe 13, removably mountable in an aperture in a tube plate, e.g. by a bayonet joint, and the upper end of the bag is clamped round the lower end of the pipe on its outer surface. Spokes 23 extend inwards from the lower end of the pipe and carry a sleeve arranged coaxially in relation to the bag and the pipe, and a bag- tensioning bar 43, approximately the length of the bag, has an array of axially-spaced shoulders near its upper end, any of which may engage with the sleeve, the bar extending down through the bag to a lower dish 32 which closes the bottom of the bag. The dish may be provided with a positioning extension 37 projecting downwards. The bar is adjusted axially to tension the bag. <IMAGE>
