Abstract

A water system has incorporated therein to increase the viscosity of water, an alkylene polyamine, an alkanolamine, an alicyclic polyamine or a mixture of two or more such compounds. The invention also relates to the recovery of oil from a subterranean reservoir using a water system as described above.
