Abstract

An earth proving circuit for an electrically operated apparatus includes a solid state relay (SSR) the operation of which when an earth connection is established allows the operation of electromagnetically-operable switches RL1-RL6, which control the electrical connection of a power supply to the electrically-operated apparatus. Indications of faults in the circuit and the establishment or otherwise of the earth connection are provided. <IMAGE>
