Abstract

A device for controllably gripping yarn or threads, and suitable for attachment to a knitting machine for gripping warp ends, includes at least two indented members 12, 14 which are slidable relative to one another such that, when the teeth are aligned yarn receiving openings are presented, while on moving the members relative to one another, yarns within such openings are gripped between adjacent indentations. The indented members 12, 14 may be actuated by a solenoid 38 through a pivoted linkage 37. <IMAGE>
