Abstract

An arrangement for measuring oxygen concentrations consists of a noble metal reduction electrode 2 surrounded by a annular reference electrode 3, the two electrodes being enclosed from the surrounding environment by polytetrafluoroethylene membrane 6. In order to prevent contamination of the electrode 2, said electrode is covered by a membrane containing a sodium selective cation ligand 20 and the reference electrode 3 is preferably also covered by a membrane 30 containing a different ligand from that contained in the membrane 20. Electrolyte 5 contains the membrane ligand cation(s). <IMAGE>
