Abstract

A coupling device, for example for wires, strings, ropes, cables or small or large chains, comprises a female first member 2 and a male second member 1 able to enter the female member 2 along an axis 5, one of said members 1 comprising an engagement portion 3 and the other member 2 comprising an element or elements 6 which is or are able to engage with said engagement portion 3, when the male member 1 is in the female member 2, thereby to provide a coupled condition of the female and male members 1 and 2, the coupling device further comprising a third member 7 which is movable along said axis 5 and which has a position (as shown) in which it restrains said element or elements 6 in engagement with said engagement portion 3, and another position (not as shown) in which said engagement is released. <IMAGE>
