Abstract

A security door is formed from a plurality of layers with a layer 7 of sheet metal and a layer 8 of resilient material on one side of the sheet metal, these two layers forming a core, and the core having a layer 6 of wood on either side. A door frame for hanging the door comprises a pair of parallel L-section steel uprights (1) to be let into the floor and the surrounding wall structure, and an L-section steel lintel 1 min bridging said uprights to define a steel frame, a timber door frame comprising uprights (14) and lintel 14 min being attached to and within said steel frame, with resilient filler strips 9 being interposed between the timber and steel frames. <IMAGE>
